Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Not all pupil premium children however are disadvantaged.

Good schools know that both emotional growth and well being are directly linked to learning. They also know that the more a child or young person experiences quality connections with adults who are rooting for them, the more mature their brains become.  We therefore use Maslow's hierarchy of need to ensure children at Rickley Park are ready to learn. We are now considering a 3 year plan to address issues through therapies before focusing on learning, therefore meaning that impact is not always seen immediately.
